He worked at Pressmen's Home for several years, NCR of Morristown and Rockwell Automation. He also had a great passion for farming and loved to basket weave. He accepted Christ at an early age and attended Spires Chapel Baptist Church, where he held different positions.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Minnie Smith Davis; two sisters, Pearl Stapleton, Sarah Lipe; three brothers, George, Marshall and James Davis.
He is survived by his wife, Jessie K. Davis of the home; two daughters, Eileen Absher, Rogersville and Mrs. Larry W. (Patsy) Mauk, Surgoinsville; two sons, Howard Davis, Church Hill and Jerry Davis and wife, Ellen, Rogersville; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Georgia Ferrell, Rogersville.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 29, 2004 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home with Rev. John North officiating. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2004 in Highland Cemetery.
