Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at West Village Cemetery, with the Rev. Dave Riggs officiating. Full military rites will be conducted. Visitation will be one hour before services at Ingram Funeral Home in Albion.
Memorials may be made to H.C. Hendren Scholarship Fund or Wayne County Humane Society.
Mr. Gumbrell was born July 5, 1924, in Edwards County, the son of Clyde and Amy (Smith) Gumbrell. He married Mary Lou Reid Nov. 15, 1947, in the West Village community. She preceded him in death March 19, 1993.
Mr. Gumbrell was a dairy farmer. He was a member of the West Village Christian Church. He was a World War II veteran.
Mr. Gumbrell is survived by two daughters, Rosemary Gumbrell and Sarah Wirth, both of Albion; one sister, Dora Etta Abby of West Salem and one grandson, Michael Wirth of Albion.
Mr. Gumbrell is survived by his parents and one brother.
