David Moritz Byberg, 51, Bismarck, died May 22, 2011, at his home. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, at Church of Corpus Christi, Bismarck, with the Rev. Paul Becker officiating. Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Memory Gardens, Valley City.
Visitation will be held today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bismarck Funeral Home, with a vigil service at 7 p.m.
David was born Oct. 12, 1959, in Fargo, to Jacob and Marion (Gorum) Byberg. He was raised on the family farm in Grand Prairie Township north of Valley City. He attended school in Pillsbury and Luverne and graduated from Oak Grove Lutheran High School in Fargo. He attended Mary College in Bismarck. He was employed at various jobs including HIT Inc. and Medcenter One.
David always had a giving heart and a smile on his face. His faith in God was very evident as he served as an oblate at Mary College. He enjoyed being active in church activities. His family was very special to him. He adored his nieces and nephews with all his heart and was a godfather to all.
He is survived by his sisters, Beth (Carey) Dreher, New Town, and Diane (Paul) Fritchie, Hastings; nephews and nieces, Cody Dreher, Jacob Fritchie, Ashley (Mike) Harman and Kayla Dreher; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his maternal grandparents, Moritz and Agnes Gorum; and paternal grandparents, Otto and Elizabeth Byberg.
