Ronald Stephen "Stevie" Abell, 48, of Ripley died Nov. 4, 2003 at Suburban Hospital, Bethesda.


He owned Abell Welding.


He loved fishing and hunting.


Born Dec. 26, 1954, in Washington, D.C. he was the son of Charles Leon Abell and the late Jean Gloria Abell.


In addition to his father, he is survived by his sons, Kenneth Shawn Abell and Stephen Wade Abell; daughter, Barbara Jean Abell; brother, Charles Michael Abell; sister, Karen Elizabeth Abell Ayers.


Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7 at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, La Plata, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Service will be held Saturday, Nov. 8 at 10 a.m. at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home. Deacon Johnny Barnes will officiate. Burial will take place at St. Ignatius Hilltop. Pallbearers will be Roger Nelson Ayers, Timothy Charles Ayers, Michael Seeman, Neil Myers, Jr., Keith Anthony, and Jack Racey.


Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 1041 Route #3, North Blg. A. Gambrills, Md. 21054.
