Mrs. Fish was born to William and Josie Vinson Clawson on June 4, 1921, in Cleo Springs, Okla.

She married John Charles Fish on Feb. 19, 1940 in Velljo, Calif. She was a homemaker all of her adult life, and a member of the Church of the First Born here in Cortez.

She enjoyed gardening and being with her family and grandchildren. Judy had the ability to give everyone a smile, and to make them feel welcome in her presence and at her home.

Services for Julia "Judy" Maye Fish, 80, of Cortez, will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1 at the Cortez Church of the First Born. Doug Carver will officiate. Interment will follow at the Arriola Cemetery.

Julia "Judy" Fish is survived by her sons, Byron (Hilda) Fish; Glen (Shiela) Fish; Bob (Terry) Fish; Allen (Linda) Fish; and George (Debbie) Fish, all of Cortez; daughters, Marionetta Cooper, Nelda (Stan) Cloud and Lorraine (Virgil) Gray, also of Cortez; 26 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; 13 step grandchildren; sisters, Sara Fish of Jamul, Calif.; Milda Jo Sitton; Laurna Moore and Ule Hackett, all of Cortez; brothers, Daniel Carver and John Carver, Jr., both of Cortez, and Darrel Carver of Florida. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband, on Oct. 24, 1994; brothers William "Billy" Clawson; Dale Carver and Tom Carver; and her sisters, Patsy Sproul, Bonnie Rust and Leona Dennison.

Cortez Four Corners Funeral Chapel, Hale and Gerken Funeral Directors, are serving the family.
