Graveside services for Billy Ray Gilbert of Dolores will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, at the Arriola Cemetery. Pastor Brad Ramsey of the Rock Springs Baptist Church will officiate.
Billy was born in North Carolina on Sept. 30, 1948, to Jesse Calvin and Mary Rebecca (Barbee) Gilbert. He passed away on July 8, 2002 in rural San Miguel County.
On Dec. 27, 1990 here in Cortez, Billy married Loretta Melton. A welder by trade working on refinery pipelines, he dearly loved his work.
His wife, Loretta Gilbert of Dolores; and his son, Calvin Louis Gilbert also of Dolores, survive him.
Services will be under the direction of the Ertel Funeral Home.
