Rhodey S. Adams, pioneer stockman of Wyoming, died suddenly Tuesday at the Fiddleback ranch in Converse County, Wyoming where he had been employed. He had been in ill health for several years, but was not incapacitated. Tuesday he was talking to Mrs. Mohr preparatory to mounting his horse. Sometime later Mrs. Mohr noticed the horse standing in the same place and upon investigation found Mr. Adams dead.
Rhodey Adams was a resident of this state for over forty years, coming here from Oregon as a young man in the early eighties. He was born in Scotland, Missouri, February 12, 1859, his parents moving to Oregon when he was a child. His first work in this state was with the Swan Cattle Company. He later entered the stock business, being in partnership with the late A. D. Chamberlin and also with O. D. Ferguson. Of late years he has been with the Fiddleback Company.
Mr,. Adams was a quiet, unassuming man, worthy of the esteem in which he was held. Mr. Adams had never married. A sister, Mrs. Petro, and a nephew, Lawrence Petro, are here from Edgemont, South Dakota for the funeral. A brother resides in Oregon.
