A Funeral Mass for LaVerne Marie Geswein Abbott, 81, of Lanesville, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lanesville, with burial in the church cemetery. She died Friday, July 1, 2011, at Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lanesville.
Survivors include her husband, Garland P. Abbott, of Elizabeth; three sons, Jerry W. Geswein and his wife, Sherri, James F. Geswein and his wife, Patricia, and Michael R. Geswein and his wife, Sharon Kay, all of Lanesville; two brothers, Charles Smith and his wife, Mary George, of Florida, and James Smith and his wife, Joan, of Jeffersonville; a sister, Thelma Terry, of Cameron, Texas; four children and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Willard F. Geswein.
Visitation at Gehlbach and Royse Funeral Home in Corydon will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, with a Rosary Service at 7 p.m.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hosparus of Southern Indiana.
