George Trenholm Abrahams of Spiro was born January 12, 1914, in Roberts, Montana to Trenholm and Ella Lynette (Doty) Abrahams and passed away July 15, 2011, in Spiro, Oklahoma at the age of 97. Mr. Abrahams retired from Spiro Schools in 1979, after teaching in the Spiro School System for 25 years where he was in charge of the Yearbook Staff and the Spiro High School Library. He is survived by his brother, Thomas Abrahams of Billings, MT; special niece, Carol Simonoski and husband Alex of Oklahoma; two nieces, Susan Linn and husband Roy of CO and Amy Clark and husband Robert of Iowa; two nephews, Martin Abrahams of MT and George Thomas Abrahams of WA; his adopted family, Mike, Shelly and Chancey Smith of Ft. Smith, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Lucile (Stringer) Abrahams and two brothers, Dan Abrahams and John Abrahams. George loved the Lord and lived his life as a Good Witness. Services will be held Monday, July 18, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Spiro First United Methodist Church. Interment will be at Spiro City Cemetery.
