James Gordon "Ding" Abel, 74, of Fredericksburg died Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mr. Abel was a member of Canaan's Faith Church of God. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, as well as a member of the NRA.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Edith Abel; a daughter, Barbara Abel Perreault and her fiance, Clair Stout; two brothers, William and John Abel; and a granddaughter, Brittany Perkins and her husband, Scott.
A graveside service will be held at 1pm Friday, July 22 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Tim Dobson.
