Alphonsus Adams Died at St. Clare On Sunday
Alphonsus L. Adams, a resident of the Rudyard area for the past 49 years, passed away at the St. Clare hospital in this city on Sunday. He had been in poor health for some little time, but had been hospitalized only a short time.
Alphonsus L. Adams was born Jan. 12, 1878, in Kentucky. He spent his early life there and later moved to Kansas. He was united in marriage to Anna McCormick at Moline, Kansas in 1907. They came to Montana in 1913 and Mr. Adams homesteaded 25 miles from Rudyard, Mont., where he had since resided. His wife passed away in 1943. Mr. Adams had often visited in Fort Benton at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Farrell, and came here earlier this month and was taken ill.
He was well known and highly respected in his home area and also by many friends in the Fort Benton area. He had engaged in farming operations during all of his residence in that area. He had retired some time ago.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Farrell, Fort Benton; one grandson and one great-grandchild; a sister-in-law, Miss Jennie McCormick of Fort Benton, and a host of friends to mourn his departure.
