Leo A. Lanckriet, 63, of Evans, died Thursday, February 6 at Cheyenne VA Medical Center, Cheyenne, Wyoming. He was born March 22, 1933 to Cyril and Barbara Lanckriet in Ovid.
Leo graduated from St. Patrick's Academy in Sidney, Nebraska. He served in the armed forces for two years and was self-employed in his own plumbing and heating business for 25 years in Holyoke. Lanckriet enjoyed woodworking, golfing, bowling and most of all his grandchildren.
On February 23, 1957 he was united in marriage to Betty Jean Sanders at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Julesburg. To this union three children were born.
Survivors are his wife, Betty Lanckriet of Evans; sons Greg Lanckriet of Greeley and Mike Lanckriet and wife Debbie of Sterling; daughter Kim Betz and husband Ken of LaSalle; three grandsons and three granddaughters; three sisters, Madeline Ciemnoczolowski and Mary Abts of Julesburg and Esther Kraus of Madrid, Nebraska. His parents and three brothers preceded him in death.
Recitation of the rosary was Sunday, February 9, at Austin Funeral Home in Julesburg. Mass of Christian Burial was Monday, February 10, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Interment was in Julesburg Cemetery.
