Frederick William Barttlingck, was born to Alexander W R Barttlingck and Mary Pollie Jones on September 20, 1883 in Houston, TX. His mother died when he was a young boy.

He began his working career as a shipping clerk for Bering-Cortes Hardware Co.

He married Monnie Mae Williams on March 20, 1907 in Houston, TX.

He started his own business - Restaurant Supply Co. After 25 years in business he retired and he and Monnie moved to Rockport, TX where they ran The Cedars Tourist Cabins for several years. His love for fishing probably drew him there.

He was an avid fisherman, verified by photos of stringers of flounder, drum and trout.

In 1954 they again retired and moved to Waller, TX to be near family.

He died in Waller Co. Hospital at age 73, on March 15, 1957, just five days short of their Golden Anniversay.

He was a member of West End Baptist Church in Houston and Regan Lodge #1037 AF & AM Past Master Reagan Lodge and Arabian Temple Shrine.

He was survived by his wife, daughter and son.
