Florence "Flossie" Kempkers, 77 of Hamilton, died Saturday, January 18, 2004, at an area care center. She was a charter member of Haven Reformed Church of Hamilton, where she taught Sunday School and Ladies Guild. Preceding her in death were her husband, Wallace Kempkers Sr., in 1997 and a daughter, Barbara in 1952. Surviving are two sons, Gord and Judy Kempkers and Denny and Becky Kempkers, all of Hamilton; stepchildren, Ted and Fran Kempkers of Zeeland, Norma and Dale DeWitt and Janice and Arkie Goodin, all of Holland, and Donna and John Gingrich of Byron Center; 14 grandchildren; sever great and great-great-grandchildren; brother and sisters, Gertrude and Gerald Scholten, Joyce and Mary Russcher, and Loie and Hugh Slenk, all of Holland, Howrd and Delores Schutter of Bentheim, Mrs. Melvin (Margaret) Dannenberg of Overisel and Jean and Ron Meyaard of Oakland; brother and sisters-in-law, Jerome Aalderink and Mrs. Julius (Mae) Kempkers, both of Hamilton and Mrs. Bernie (Ruth) Schutter of Oakland; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 21 at Haven Reformed Church with Rev. Robert Rook officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Hamilton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Carriage House of Hamilton.
