Ex-Estherville Resident Dies in Minnesota
Floyd Aalborg, 51, former Estherville resident, died Saturday [February 11, 1950] at University of Minnesota hospital of complications. He had been ill for the past two years when he underwent a major operation at the University hospital after suffering from lobar pneumonia. He had been a bed patient almost continually since the operation.

He was born May 15, 1899, in Estherville and grew to manhood in the community. He early joined the Methodist church here during the pastorate of Rev. Case. He was an active member in the choir and also served as an usher.

Sept. 15, 1920, he was married to Mabelle Greene of Jackson, and shortly after marriage, the couple moved to Fairmont to make a home. They lived in Fairmont until his wife's death in 1943.

Mr. Aalborg was engaged in the roofing business and was well known in northern Iowa and throughout Minnesota.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Paul Carter of Fairmont, a nephew, Kenneth Heneman of Armstrong, a niece, Mrs. Virgil Benton of Los Angeles, as well as many relatives and friends in this vicinity. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sternborg Funeral chapel with the Rev. John E. DeLong officiating. Burial will be at East Side cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 13, 1950)
