A former Crittenden County man was fatally stabbed in an Indianapolis gas station where he worked early Saturday morning. William B. Abrams, 26, died the same afternoon. His body was returned for burial in Repton Cemetery, where graveside services were conducted Tuesday afternoon.
According to six witnesses, Mr. Abrams was stabbed in the neck by Spencer Heard, Jr., 22, of Indianapolis during an argument. Heard and his companions, a man and two women, sped away in their car after the stabbing. Heard was arrested some three hours later and charged with murder after Mr. Abrams died.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Frances; a son, Michael; his mother, Mrs. Lucy Abrams, Indianapolis; a sister, Mrs. Gloria Windisch, Indianapolis; and two brothers, Solon of Santa Monica, Cal., and Julius of Spokane, Wash.
