Lawrence 87, died Mercy Medical Center on Sept 26, 2001 after a long illness. Services at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial with military honors at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetey Survivors include a brother, Ray of Rushford, MN, and two sisters, Inez Essery of Sun City, AZ and Eleanor Wilkes of Anderson, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and three brother, Ernest, Knute and William Aakre.
Lawrence was born Sept 18, 1914 on a farm in Winneshiek Co, IA. He married Nancy Jean Endsley on Oct 28 1939 in Cedar Rapids. She died Jan 5, 1986. Lawrence had worked for the Crandic Railroad, Iowa Electric and farmed. He was a member of VFW Post 788 He served with the U.S. Army during WWII.
