There will be a memorial reception on Saturday immediately following the service at Double Tree Hotel, 61st and Yale, Tulsa, OK

OXLEY -- Edward J., 85, of Palm City, FL, entered eternal life, April 3, 2005 in Saint Lucie West, FL at the Paradise Cove Cottage. He was born April 12, 1919 in Bromide, OK to parents that were early day pioneer Teachers in Oklahoma Territory. He attended many schools in Oklahoma. During WWII, Ed became a Pilot, Aircraft Mechanic, and Instructor at Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, OK. He worked at American Airlines for 18 years as Lead Mechanic and Supervisor. He left American Airlines to build and operate Ponca Bowling Center in Ponca City, OK. He moved to Florida in 1967 and was General Manager of The Royal Palm Polo Club and retired in 1982. He was preceded in death by his parents, Moses E. and Sallie Eva (Cochran) Oxley; brothers, B.R. and John T. Oxley; and sisters, Lila Hargis and Ozelia Hunt. Ed was a member of First United Methodist Church in Stuart, FL, Pilots Association of America, a lifetime member of the Elks in Ponca City, member of Monarch Country Club in Palm City, and The Royal Palm Polo Club. Ed is survived by a daughter, Pat A. (Oxley) Heidenger and husband, Craig of Tulsa OK; a son, S. Michael Oxley and wife, Linda of Jackson Hole, Bill Sawyer of Tulsa, OK; 10 grandchildren; and a host of loved ones. Bequests may be directed to Alzheimer's Community Care, 800 North Point Parkway, Suite 101-B, West Palm Beach, FL 33407. A Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 6, at First United Methodist Church in Stuart, FL. A Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 9 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, OK. A memorial reception at The DoubleTree Hotel on 61st and Yale will immediately follow the service. The family entrusted local service to Moore's Eastlawn Chapel

Note: Ed, during WWII was Not in the services, but was a student at Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Ok., Ed was a pilot, aircraft mechanic, instructor at Spartan School of aeronautics. Worked at American Airlines 18 years as lead mechanic and supervisor, inspector.
Left to operate Ponca Bowling Center in Ponca City.
Moved to Florida in 1967 and GM of Royal Palm Polo Club till he retired in 1982.
