Juanita Mae Curry went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday,February 10, 2011 in Norman at age of 87.Juanita was born June 25, 1923 near Cement, Oklahoma to Allie Bood Myers and Doshie Ivy Simmons.
She moved to Norman in 1928 where she spent the rest of her years.
Juanita married the love of her life, Joe Henry Curry, on September 26,1937. The couple bought their home in 1945 where they would spend the rest of their lives together. Juanita and Joe brought five loving children into the world and shared 73 wonderful years together.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and two of her children, Phil "Jodie" Curry and Gina Curry Davis, as well as one great
-grandson. She is survived by her loving husband, Joe and three of their children Quantilla Sue Potts, Chris Curry and Carla Edwardson. Juanita was blessed with nine grand -children, numerous great-grandchildren, and
countless friends.
Juanita was a loving and devoted housewife who enjoyed traveling with her husband.
The two of them and their children spent many years vacationing and camping throughout the United States and Canada. She was an avid bowler and member of numerous bowling leagues. Juanita volunteered 17 years of service as the secretary of the Ole Timers League.
Juanita and her husband have been devoted members of the Church of Christ for almost 60 years. She volunteered as a Sunday school teacher at the church during much of that time.
Services will be conducted by Primrose Funeral Service at 10:00am Monday February 14, 2011 at Norman Community Church of the Nazarene, 1801 N. Porter Avenue. The service will be co-officiated by pastors Mark Taylor and Ken Ellis
