Albert D. Abbott, 83, of Hubert Road, Hubbard Lake, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 22, 2011 in the log home in which he took great pride in building and landscaping.

Al Abbott was born in Trenton, Michigan on August 12, 1928 to the late Henry Abbott and Myrtle (Roberts) Abbott and married Barbara L. Bondie on November 6, 1948. He served in the United States Army Air Corp during WWII stationed in Germany, France and Africa as a diesel mechanic and tower installer. He owned and operated Albert Abbott Septic Tank Installation and Excavating until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of Beaver Lake Community Church. Al enjoyed his family, loved spending time with his grandchildren and will be deeply missed by his family and his loyal dog Molly.

Surviving were his wife Barbara Abbott; 5 children, Harold and Karen Abbott of Hubbard Lake, Russell and Donna Abbott of Central Lake, John and Edie Abbott of Hubbard Lake, Suzie and Dave Richardson of South Lyon, Cheryl Abbott of Alpena; 10 grandchildren; J.V., Melissa, Lee, Brandon, Russell, Nikki, Ashley, Allison, Casey, Mekayla; 1 great granddaughter, Maya; 1 brother, Bernard and Dorothy Abbott of Hubbard Lake; several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Abbott was preceded in death by a son Vincent Abbott in 1977.
