Ethel G. Abbott
Ethel Givens Abbott, 60, of 470 Boone Trail died at 2 a.m. Sunday at her home after a long illness. Born Sept. 24, 1925, in Flint, Mich., she was the daughter of Gilbert May of Danville and the late Beulah May. She was a member of First Christian Church and was a housewife. Survivors include her husband, H.C. Abbott; a daughter, Mrs. Todd (Linda Marie) Rose of Winter Haven, Fla.; a son, James Floyd Abbott of Danville; a brother, Robert May of Lancaster; a sister, Gilberts Abbott of Danville; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home, Danville, by the Rev. Dr. Norman Hagley. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to a favorite charity.
