Mrs. S.N. Poole Dies At Her Home Here
Mrs. S. N. Poole, 90 years old, died Monday morning at 11:20 o'clock at her home at 1107 South Park avenue, after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon at three o'clock at the Primitive Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. W.C. Kicklighter assisted by Rev. W. F. Mims. Interment will be in the Tifton cemetery. Bowen Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Poole was born in Milton County, Georgia, March 12, 1849, a daughter of Henry and Patsy Emerson. She was Miss Nancy Emerson before her marriage to Newton Poole in February, 1869. He preceeded her in death a number of years ago.. They moved to Tifton about 35 years ago, and Mrs. Poole has been a resident of Tifton since. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist church and charter member of the church at Tifton, and was a consecrated and devoted member.
Surviving Mrs. Poole are the following children; Mrs. P. R. Rainwater, of Los Angeles, CA, Mrs. Florence Youmans of Englewood, N.J., Mrs B. F Manning of Alpharetta, Mrs. R. E. Dinsmore, Mrs. J. E. Abbott, and J. H. Poole, all of Tifton. One son, Louis, preceded Mrs. Poole in death a number of years ago. Surviving also are a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the last member of her immediate family.
