Robert attended East Aurora High School and then served in the U.S. Navy. After that, he went to work for Commonwealth Edison and retired from there after many years of service. Per his wishes, he was cremated and his ashes were strewn in the Gulf of Mexico where he spent many happy hours fishing and boating.
