Anna Laura Crance Adams, age 94, of Randolph, Virginia, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2011. She was the beloved wife of Edwin Grayson Adams. Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Edward and Virgie Tanner Crance; a son, Stephen D. Adams; a daughter, Suzanne Adams; three brothers, Carl B. Crance, Robert T. Crance, and Edward L. Crance; a sister, Mildred Crance Giles.
She is survived by her three favorite nieces, Anna Lee Sloan of Kentucky, Linda Kay Scott of Alabama, and Betty L. Crance of Virginia.
Anna graduated from Randolph Mason College for Women in 1939. She served as Captain in the Army Nurse Corps in World War II in New Guinea. Anna was the head dietician at the Veteran's Hospital in Hampton Roads, Virginia, from which she retired. She was a member of the Phenix Presbyterian Church in Phenix, Virginia.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 12, 2011 (today) at the Phenix Presbyterian Church in Phenix, Virginia, with interment in the Evergreen Cemetery, Charlotte Court House, Virginia. The family received friends one hour prior to the service in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Charlotte County Rescue Squad or the Phenix Fire Department, Phenix, VA 23959.
The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA was in charge of arrangements.
