Jay E. [Ephraim] Green, 77, of Superior Dies; Rites Saturday
Jay E. Green, 77, of Superior, died Thursday [February 15, 1945] afternoon at his home. Mr. Green had been ill a week following a stroke.
He was born April 23, 1868, in Michigan and for a number of years had farmed in the Superior community.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. from the Sternborg funeral chapel in Estherville and at 2 p.m. in the Superior church with the Rev. C.K. Hudson of Arnolds Park in charge.
Mr. Green is survived by his widow [Annettie “Nettie” Miles Green], several brothers and sisters. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, February 22, 1945)
