Kate was Born in Grand County on Nov. 25, 1964. The family I moved to Routt County in 1966 where she was reared on the Acord ranch south of Yampa.

Kate grew up riding through sagebrush and wildflowers. She learned to handle livestock and became an expert at operating all types of haying equipment; stacking was her expertise.
