Martha Syphers Hall was the wife of Michael Hall.

Martha Syphers Hall was born in the state of Maryland on October 12, 1806 and died in Kendallville, Indiana. at the home of her son J.D. Hall, February 22, 1896, aged 89 years, 4 months, and 10 days.

August 18, 1834 she was married to Michael Hall. To them was born 4 sons and one daughter. The daughter and two sons preceded her to Heaven. One of these sons was a soldier and was laid to rest on the Pittsburg battle field near the Shiloh church. The deceased was converted and united with the U.B. about fifty-two years ago, and for the past twelve she has been member in good standing of the Evangelical association.

As a wife and mother she was kind and affectionate, always energetic and industrious and manifested to the world a christian character that was above repute. She suffered much, yet always patient and perfectly resigned to the will of her Father, and passed away in peace to the eternal rest of the saint, and leaves two sons, a number of grand-children and many friends.

The Funeral was held at the Evangelical church on Sunday, Feb. 23, 1896, Conducted by the paster, W.H. Mygrant, assisted by Rev. John Haas.
