Funeral services for Donald E. Abbott, 66, Rising Sun, formerly of Lexington, Ky., will be at 1 p.m. (DST, fast time) Thursday, July 28, 2005, at Markland Funeral Home, Rising Sun, with burial in Oakdale Cemetery, Dillsboro. Visitation is from 1 p.m. until the time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Abbott died Saturday, July 23, in Woodland Hills Care Center, Lawrenceburg. He was retired from Macy's Department Store, Lexington, where he was a sales specialist. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by a son, Donald Abbott Jr., San Antonio, Texas; three brothers, Bruce Abbott, Bill Abbott, and Frank Abbott, all of New Hampshire; a sister, Patricia Sullivan, South Carolina; a stepson, Terry Lester, Dallas, and step daughter, Sue Walcott, Rising Sun.
Memorial may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
