Services were held Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the First Methodist church, Shattuck, for Mrs. Charles ABBOTT, 89, who died Tuesday morning at the Woodward hospital.
Burial was made in the Shattuck cemetery under the direction of Mason Funeral home.
Mrs. ABBOTT suffered a stroke last Friday morning at the Young Rest home, Woodward, and was taken to the hospital there.
Mrs. ABBOTT had been a resident of Shattuck since 1908 when she and her family moved here. Mrs. ABBOTT was a rural school teacher for many years and also was a Sunday school teacher.
She is survived by her husband, Charles of the home; three sons, Archie of Seattle, Wash., Raymond of Arnett, and Paul of Shattuck; two daughters, Mrs. Fern RIFFEL of Shattuck and Faye ROSS of Meade, Kan.; two brothers, Walter AMES of Reedley, Calif., and Howard AMES of Topeka.

Mrs. Charles ABBOTT
Celia Louise AMES, daughter of Elisha and Rosetta AMES, was born at Newbury, Kan., November 22, 1873.
She was united in marriage with Charles ABBOTT May 7, 1902 at Rossville, Kan.
To this union were born eight children, five sons and three daughters. Two children preceded her in death in infancy. One son, Henry passed away in 1953.
Charles and Louise moved to this Oklahoma community in 1908 where she was served her Master well by teaching both in rural schools and in Sunday school for many years.
She acknowledged Christ in early life and has been faithful member of the Methodist church since. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She departed this life January 23, 1962, at the age of 89 years, and 2 months.
She leaves to mourn her three sons, Archie of Seattle, Wash., Raymond of Arnett and Paul of Shattuck; two daughters, Fern RIFFEL of Shattuck and Faye ROSS of Meade, Kan.; two brothers Walter AMES of Reedley, Calif., and Howard AMES of Topeka, Kan. Besides these there are 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and many beloved friends.
