Sarah Catherine Nida, daughter of William H. Nida (1839-1911) and Mary Ann Coleman (1843-1922) was married three times. She was first married to John Anderson Newlun on Aug. 22, 1884, in Webster, Vernon Co., WI. However this marriage ended very soon afterwards, apparently in either an annulment or a divorce and Mr. Newlun was re-married in 1887. Sarah was also, apparently, remarried soon afterwards as well to a man known only as John McDonald. We know she married someone by the name of McDonald because when she was married a 3rd time, on June 21, 1894, in Crawford Co., WI., to Abraham "Abram" Hartley, she was identified on the marriage record as Sarah McDonald.

This third marriage also ended in divorce sometime between 1900 and 1910. We are told that her 2nd husband died in 1895 yet she was married a 3rd time one year earlier to Mr. Hartley in 1894.
