Barbara Josephine "Bobby" Holsheiser, 87, died peacefully Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, at Monroe Manor in Paris, Mo.

Bobby was a lifelong resident of Monroe County, Mo. at heart but had also lived for a time in Hawaii and Germany when her husband, Glenn A. Stone, was stationed there with the U.S. Army. After his retirement, she worked as an executive secretary to Dr. Mary Nelle Greenwood at the University of Missouri Extension office in Columbia for 11 years until her marriage to Craig Holsheiser of Paris in 1975.

She is survived by son Stephen Stone and Mary Ann; grandsons Matt Stone and Ruth and Chris Stone, all of Columbia, and Mark Stone of DeSoto; daughter-in-law Nancy Stone of Paris; granddaughters Mary Stone of Paris and Jessica Yates and Keith of Columbia; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Dr. Bill Acuff, formerly of Boonville, now of Sarasota, Fla., and Jack Acuff of Farmington, N.M.; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Harry Edward and Mary Barbara Helms Acuff; her husbands; son Edward L. Stone (June 28, 1942-July 24, 2002) of Columbia; and sister Betty Warren of Paris, Mo.

Visitation was Wednesday, Aug. 12, at Agnew Funeral Home in Paris, Mo. with services immediately following. Interment at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Paris.
