This community was greatly saddened by the sudden death of Waller Underwood, who died in Pinestone, Minn. He died with tonsilitis and deutitis. He rapidly grew worse until the end came Monday morning at 8:30. He had been teaching the Indian school for about four years.Funeral services were conducted at his home Chapel on Tuesday morning and then the body was shipped to Hodgenville, where a host of relatives and friends were awaiting its arrival, which were taken to Mt. Tabor where Rev. L. E. Whitlow conducted a short funeral service after which the remains were laid to rest to await the great resurrection day.His friends were very thankful for the floral designs which were presented by his Indian friends, which were beautiful. His school consisted of 350 Indian pupils.He is survived by a wife and two children, an aged father and mother, one brother, Sam Underwood, and his sisters Mrs. Laura Perkins, of Mt. Tabor, Mrs. Nancy Jane Darnell of Clayton, Ind and Mrs. Arthur Abell of this place. (written on edge of obit. November 8, 1926)
