Reverend Thomas Henry Abercrombie was born June 20, 1902 in Montgomery, Alabama to Rev Frank E and Fannie (Whisnant) Abercrombie. At 64, he went to be with the Lord in Portsmouth, Ohio at Mercy Hospital, after suffering an acute heart attack.

A native of Alabama, he was the fourth of seven Abercrombie children. His sibling were: Tulula, Frank Jr, Eunice, Lloyd, Alice and Rose Ella.

Thomas united in marriage with Amanda Moran the daughter of Edward and Elsie (Haggins) Moran of Berea, Kentucky. They did not have any children.

Rev Abercrombie had been pastor of the Pleasant Green Baptist Church at Waller and 15th Streets in Portsmouth, Ohio for about eight years. Rev. Abercrombie was pastor of the New Hope Baptist Church in Hillsboro, Ohio for 16 years before coming to Portsmouth.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Walnut Hills near Cincinnati, a board member of the Ohio Baptist General Convention (Association), the Eastern Union Association and the Ohio Sunday School and Baptist Training Union. He was vice president of the Scioto County Ministerial Association and Past Vice Moderator of the Eastern Union Baptist Association.

Preceded in death by his parents, Rev Frank Abercrombie, Frannie Abercrombie; sister, Tulula Tate, Alice, Rose; brothers, Frank Abercrombie Jr and Lloyd Abercrombie.

Surviving were his wife, Amanda Abercrombie; a sister, Cordelia Hankins; several nieces and nephews.

Rev Abercrombie service was held at his church, Pleasant Green of Portsmouth, Ohio with Immediate Past President of the Ohio Baptist General Convention, Dr. Wilber Page giving the eulogy.
