Henry August Kapsch, son of Henry A. Kapsch Sr. and Elizabeth (Schoppert) Kapsch, was born July 15, 1910 in Freeman, SD. He grew up and received his education in the Freeman area.

Henry was united in marriage with Genevieve McLaury in Freeman on June 25, 1933. The couple made their home in Sioux Falls, SD where Henry worked for the railroad. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Sioux Falls. He worked as an auto body technician and new car inspector for Borgan Chevrolet and Jay-Shon Chevrolet before retiring in the late 1970's after 25 years of service.

Henry was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Brandon, SD. He loved working on the couple's acreage near Brandon. He enjoyed yardwork and gardening. He was a life member of United Commercial Travelers and liked dancing and singing.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Genevieve; six children, LeRoy Kapsch and his wife, Beverly, Sioux Falls, SD, Ruby Johnson, Sioux Falls, SD, Elaine Huetson and her husband, Harlan, Sioux Falls, SD, Roger Kapsch and his wife, Patty, St. Cloud, MN, Mike Kapsch and his wife, Starla, Sioux Falls, SD, Terry Kapsch, Sioux Falls, SD; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one brother, Ray Kapsch and his wife, Orpha, Grantsburg, WI; and a host of other relatives and friends. Henry was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Darlene; his parents; one brother, Toby; and four sisters, Tillie, Ann, Margaret and Ella.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family for lunch and fellowship at George Boom Funeral Home following the funeral service and prior to leaving for the committal service.
