Mrs. Noma Phelps Bradshaw, wife of Mr. Chester Bradshaw, was so badly burned on Saturday, December 14, that she failed to survive despite all that medical science could do. Her apron caught from an open stove door and the flames spread rapidly over the rest of her clothing. She was rushed to Adair Memorial Hospital in Columbia, but died there on Friday, December 20. She was 59 years of age.

Surviving, in addition to the husband, are six children: Gerald Bradshaw of Jeffersontown, Ky., Mrs. Zelma Deen Antle of Montpelier, Gene Bradshaw of Jamsetown, Glen Bradshaw of Russell Springs, Mrs. Doreen Luttrell of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Nora Mae Phillips, also of Indianapolis. She also assisted in rearing and caring for Mrs. Norma Jean Irwin and considered her almost the same as a daughter. She also leaves two brothers, Nanthan and Norman Phelps of Jamestown, and a sister, Mrs. Ida Mae Aaron of Saybreek, Ill. There are nine grandchildren, as well as a number of other relatives and a great host of friends.

Mrs. Bradshaw was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Methodist church, and the funeral was held there on Sunday afternoon, December 22. The ministers were Rev. Kenneth Lovelace and Rev. S. B. Lowe, and burial
was in the Phelps Cemetery. Rippetoe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. - Russell County News
