George Lambert Andres Sr.,78, of 706 Grand Avenue, Eldon died Monday, May 2 at Saint Elizabeth Care Center, 649 S. Walnut Street, Saint Elizabeth, Missouri.
He was born on Oct 21, 1909, in Marys Home, Missouri, the son of Joseph Leodigar Andres and Mary E. Schulte.
He was a lifetime resident of Miller County and most of his life lived on a farm near Eldon. Mr. Andres was a retired carpenter. He also was a member of the Eldon Sacred Hearth Catholic Church.
Surviving him are a son, Jack Lee Andres, of Omaha, Nebraska, four daughters, Mary Dembowski, of Scrivner, Nebraska, Donna Mae Cropp, of Raytown, Vemice Jean Burkes, of Versailles, and Linda Lou Abbey, of Omaha, Nebraska, two brothers, Eugene Andres, of Eugene, and Alfred Andres, of Henley; four sisters, Anna Tellman, and Lucille Schultz, both of Jefferson City, and Frances Newman and Sophie Scheeiss, both of Saint Louis; 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and his longtime friend, Pauline Teagarden, of Eldon.
Funeral services were held at 9 am Wednesday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev James O'Sullivan officiating. Burial was in Our Lady of the Snows Cemetery, Marys Home, Missouri. The rosary was prayed at 7:30 pm Tuesday at Griswold-Kays Funeral Home, in Eldon.
