He was born April 14, 1908, in Honey Grove. He married Iwilla Lois Settle on Dec. 12, 1931, in Abernathy. She died Nov. 13, 2000. He moved to Lubbock in 1935. He drove truck for Wapples Platter for many years and worked for the Texas Highway Department for 10 years. He retired in 1973. He was a member of Forrest Heights United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Walter Jo Arrant of Lubbock, Juanita Steger of Burnet and Myrtle Lou Bradshaw of El Campo; a sister, Lillian Lokey of Lubbock; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
