Walter Otto Witt, age 79 of Flagler, Colorado passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the Parker Adventist Hospital in Parker, Colorado. He was born December 15, 1932 in Hooker, Oklahoma the son of Henry A. and Anna Frances (Jefferis) Witt. Walt was the fourth of seven children born. He grew up and attended schools in Hooker, Oklahoma and graduated from Hooker High School in 1951.

On August 15, 1954 at the Church of Christ in Hooker, Oklahoma, Walt was united in marriage to Arthena (Hoobler). They shared over fifty-seven years of marriage. To this union they shared five children, Mark, John, Matt, Paul and Lora.

Walt's true passion was being a lifelong rancher where his heart was always with his cattle. He had been farming and ranching since he was nineteen years old, starting back in Hooker, Oklahoma. In 1964, Walt and Arthena moved to Flagler where they continued ranching and farming up until the very present. The land and the cattle always put Walt's soul at peace and his hard work ethic and toughness will be continued on through his children and grandchildren's lives forever. Walter will be missed by his family and friends that he loved so much and his spirit will be expressed in their daily lives as they continue on his legacy.

Walt is survived by his wife, Arthena of the home; four sons, Mark Witt (Mary) of Hooker, Oklahoma, John Witt (Tami) of Flagler, Colorado, Matt Witt (Cheryl) of Flagler, Colorado, Paul Witt (Andrea) of Flagler, Colorado; one daughter, Lora Charles (Allen) of Flagler, Colorado; one sister, Anna Mayer (Lewis) of Guymon, Oklahoma; nineteen grandchildren, Aaron Witt, Neal and Melissa Hofferber, Lane and Reann Witt, Mallory Hofferber, Brian and Heather Witt, Chris and Julie Witt, David and Renee Witt, Jennifer Witt, Mindy Witt, Kenzie Witt, Wyatt Witt, Jamie Witt, Philip Witt, Nathan Witt, Garrett Witt, Jason Witt, Weston Charles, Lyndee Charles, Olivia Charles; six great-grandchildren, Casen Hofferber, Alexis and Peyton Witt, Macie and Madison Witt, and Landon Charles; two sisters-in-law, Nelda Witt of Flagler, Colorado and Earlene Witt of Hooker, Oklahoma.

Mr. Witt was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Hank, Jim, and Bill Witt; two sisters, Lavon Weber and Clara Adams.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the Church Of Christ in Flagler, Colorado. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. The interment will follow to the Flagler Cemetery in Flagler, Colorado. Memorial contributions may be made to the Flagler Fire Department, P.O.
