M. K. ADAMS RITES HELD THURSDAY

Funeral services for Malvin K. Adams of Ovid were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 24, at Zion Lutheran Church of Holyoke, with Rev. W. A. Meyer, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church at Imperial, Nebraska officiating. Interment was at Holyoke Memorial Park with military rites.

Mr. Adams, who was 31 years of age, passed away at about 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 21, following a heart attack. He was stricken while driving with his family from Chappell, Nebraska to Ovid. He was taken to the Julesburg hospital but died shortly before reaching the hospital.

The son of Herbert and Velma Cranwell Adams, Malvin Kenneth Adams was born April 11, 1931 at Wauneta, Nebraska. He spent his childhood and youth with his parents in the Lamar, Nebraska community and attended Chase County High School at Imperial. He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1949 and served for three and one-half years.

On January 12, 1951 he was united in marriage with Miss Jane Edwards of Imperial. The wedding was performed in Holyoke. To this union two children were born, Brenda Kay and Steven Edward. Mr. and Mrs. Adams lived in Texas for a time while he was in the Air Force. Following his discharge they moved to Ovid, where they had since resided. Mr. Adams was employed by the Highline Electric Association.

He was united with the Lutheran church at Julesburg in 1955.

Survivors include his wife and children, already mentioned; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herb Adams, Holyoke; two brothers, Calvin, Brush, Colorado and Vernon, Grant; five sisters, Mrs. Irma Stewart, O'Neill, Nebraska, Mrs. Archie Silvrants, Grant, Nebraska, Mrs. Eva Case of Montana, and Janet and Phyllis at home; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one brother, LeRoy.

Lutz, Montrose; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Stewart and sons, O'Neil, Nebraska; Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Adams and family, Brush; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Case and sons, Baker, Montana; Mr. and Mrs. Archie Silvrants and sons and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Adams and son, Grant, Nebraska; Bill Bilo, Sacramento, California; Mr. and Mr. Paul Bilo and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Edwards, Imperial; Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Gravener, Benkelman; Dick Adams and Mr. and Mrs. Updike, Derby. Mrs. Stewart is spending some time with Mrs. Adams and family.
