Obituary.

Daniel Albright was born Dec. 28, 1822, at Fayetteville, Tennessee. While yet a boy he moved with his parents to Tazewell county Ill., where the larger part of his life was spent. He was married to Lavina Atteberry April 18, 1847. To this union 9 children were born. Eight survive the dead. Austin Albright of Oakland, Oregon; Frank Albright of Chicago, Ill.; Arthur Albright of Armington, Ill.; Irvin Albright, died Feb., 1900, at Leads, South Dakota; J. D. Albright of Pawnee City, Neb.; Mrs. Josephine Hawes of Atlanta, Ill.; Mrs. Ada Pool of Oklahoma City, Okla.; Mrs. Jennie Raper of Pawnee City, Neb.; and Jacob Albright of Oklahoma.

Mrs. Lavina Albright, the faithful wife and mother, died July, 1867.

On July 1, 1869, Mr. Albright married his second wife Josephine Saulsberry. To this union there were 6 children, 5 of whom survive the dead. Stephen Albright of Holbrook, Neb.; Ella Albright of Pawnee City, Neb.; Ernest Albright of Armington, Ill.; Nettie Albright of Kansas City, Mo.; Mayme Albright of Kansas City, Mo.

Daniel Albright resided from his boyhood days in Tazewell county, Ill., until 21 years ago, when he moved with his family to Pawnee county, Neb., where he has resided until the time of his death. His occupation has ever been that of a faithful and industrious farmer. He ever supplied well his large and growing family. In his younger days he was quite active in church work. He was sought after as a Bible school teacher and was ever helpful as a leader of song. He was accomplished upon the violin, playing entirely bu note. He was a great student upon the farm. He spent his noon hour at reading. His reading was of a classic nature. He read much law and was therefore a man of counsel among his fellows. He was a benevolent man; a lover of flowers and birds. Of all men Mr. Albright loved an honest man.

Mrs. Josephine Albright, the second wife of Daniel Albright, died at the old home southeast of Pawnee City in Feb., 1893. She was a member of the Christian church. After the death of his wife, Mr. Albright remained upon the old farm, while his younger children kept house for him. Many were the requests that he move to town and spend his latter days, but no; he preferred the old farm home. However, last December he moved with his son, J. D. Albright, with whom he remained until the time of his death, which occurred March 11, 1903.

Mr. Albright was always a strong, robust man until about 10 years ago. Since that time he has been troubled with an acute disease. He has suffered the most of the past three years and at times intensely. He was conscious almost to the last.

A father, neighbor and friend is lost to our mortal vision, but in a ripe old age. Few of us can hope to tarry here four score years as did he.
