She was born July 18, 1939, in Shelley, a daughter of George Paul and Mary Ada Hanson Stricklan. The Stricklan family moved to Darlington, Idaho, in the spring of 1945, where they farmed and raised sheep and cattle. She attended school in Darlington, Moore and Arco.
On Oct. 10, 1956, she married Juel Aikele in Leslie, Idaho. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in 1969. Together they lived, farmed and raised a family in the Lost River Valley for 51 years.
She enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, family history, reading and temple service. She was a lifetime active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she most frequently served as a teacher.
Mary Anne is survived by her husband, Juel; two sons, Michael (Lori) Aikele of Kennewick, Wash., and Steven J. (Peggy Sue) Aikele of Richland, Wash.; two daughters, Adrienne (Doug) Harmer of Ammon and Milynda (Greg) Carlson of Carey; two sisters, Sharon (Ken) Aksamit of Fruit Heights, Utah, and Evelyn Wirick of Ogden, Utah; a brother, Dave (Juli) Stricklan of Rexburg; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Ada; and two grandchildren, Gerrett Carlson (1987) and Andrea Carlson (1999).
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Moore, Idaho, Stake Center. Interment will be in Lost River Cemetery under the direction of Anderson Family Funeral Home of Arco.
