He was born on June 26, 1928, in Kingsport, Tenn., and was a son of the late E.B. and Bertha Barnes Bullion.
Mr. Bullion was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served as a sergeant in the 31st Dixie Division. He held a master's degree in business and education from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn., where he also taught athletics.
Mr. Bullion was a coach and teacher at Stanley High School and in 1957 coached the Stanley High School Tigers Baseball Team to a championship win in District L. He also taught and coached at Halls High School in Knoxville, Benoit High School in Benoit, Miss., and served as principal and teacher at Cascilla Elementary in Cascilla. He retired from Grolier Education Corporation and was affiliated with the Church of God.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 61 years, Dell Crosthwait Bullion, are a daughter, Linda Trusty of Charleston, Miss.; a son, Steve Bullion of Cascilla, Miss.; a sister, Louise Bullion Austin of Kingsport, Tenn.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a caregiver, Luella Mays; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Aileen Bullion Adams, Pauline Bullion McKinney and Ruth Bullion Smith, all of Kingsport, Tenn.
A funeral service was conducted on Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at the Newsom Funeral Home in Charleston, Miss. Burial was in Magnolia Gardens in Paynes, Miss.
