Looks to me that his birth is wrong at the headstone. According to https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/collections/1002/images/44535_03_00006-00513?usePUB=true&usePUBJs=true&pId=16356112, his record 1942 for War II registration says born 26. Febr. 1879. That card he has signed. His sister Hilda Bertha looks like born 20.6. 1876, and with John Peter for 26.2. 1876 . thats only about 4 months diff.
