ABSTRACT: She was born in Sturgis, Michigan, but moved to Butte, Montana, where her family were pioneers. They came to Long Beach two years ago and live at 636 Chestnut Ave. Survived by husband Volmey C. Whiting; daughters Mrs. George Wotoring and Mrs. Alex Husband of Long Beach and Mrs. Major W. Smith of Butte, Mont.; grandchildren Elizabeth and Margaret Wotoring of Long Beach and Masters Volney and Woolridge Smith of Butte; brothers W.J. Alexander of Whitehall, Mont., and Fred R. Tomlinson of Butte. She was married March 1, 1876, at Poynette, Wisc., and was a member of the Eastern Star at Whitehall, Mont., and of the Whitehall Woman's Club.
