Mabel A. Starkey, Age 95, of Wellington, Texas, died on Saturday, March 3,2012.

Mabel was born on Dec. 26, 1916, in Forrest City, Ark. to William A. and Bessie D. Littell Adkins.

She married Oral Hase Starkey on March 11,1937, in Conway. He preceded her in death.
Mabel came to Wellington in 1998 From Santa Maria, Calif. She was a homemaker, a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Lydia Circle of the UMW. She was an excellent seamstress and quilter. Mabel loved to knit and crochet. She was also a certified beautician.

She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cherl D. Eigenmann; a grandson, Jeffrey D. Eigenmann; and a brother Rufus Lessie Adkins.

Her survivors include her daughter, Frances Eigenmann and her husband Conrad of Wellington; a son, William Starkey and his wife Thelma of Albuquerque, N.M.; her sister, Louise Paladino of Conway; two grandsons Darl Eigenmann and wife Angelia of Wellington and David Starkey of Albuquerque; three granddaughters, Jacqueline Mills and husband Mark of Sonora, Calif., Debbie Nelson and husband Tracy and Misty Starkey Jones all of Albuquerque. She had 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 19, at the First United Methodist Church, Wellington, Texas with the Rev. Gene Weinette, pastor officiating.

Entombment will be in Los Osos Valley Memorial Park Mausoleum in Los Osos, Calif.
