Isla Abell Mease, age 82, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away February 20, 2009 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. She was born March 1, 1926 in Blythewood, South Carolina, and was the daughter of the late Mr. William Henry Abell and the late Mrs. Leila Raines Abell. She worked in management for Southern Bell where she retired after 35 years of service. She was a member of the Council on Aging in Georgetown, SC. She was a caregiver and worked as a LPN and Hospice volunteer. She was of the Episcopalian Faith. She was a master gardener.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son-in-law Ned Capers Oliver. She is survived by her daughter Pauline "Polly" Oliver of Villa Rica; grandson Anthony Oliver of Villa Rica; sisters and brother-in-law Lenora Thomas of Columbia, SC, Willie Mae and Kenneth Johnson of Camden, SC, and Mildred True of Newberry, SC; brothers and sisters-in-law William H. and Bertha Abell of Newberry, SC and Melvin Eugene and Karen Abell of Little Mountain, SC; grandchildren Anthony Oliver, Terri Paris, Ned Carlton Oliver and Randy Oliver; ten great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services were held at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Max Vincent officiating. Interment followed at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta, Georgia. The following served as pallbearers: Ned Oliver, Clark Abell, Richard Abell, Mike Johnson, Brandon McMichael, Nick Oliver and Randy Oliver.
