William Roland Davenport was born to William H Davenport and Essie Dora Gibson on August 22, 1904 in Houston, Harris Co.,TX. He attended Rice Institute (now University) in Houston, TX 1922-1926. He graduated in 1926 at the age of 21. Unfortunately only months after graduation, he went to Rusk State Hospital where he lived for the next nine plus years. He died of tuberculosis on February 21, 1936 at the age of 31, in Cherokee Co. TX. Predeceased by mother, brother and sister. Survived by father and brother. According to his death certificate, he is buried in Henderson,TX.
