Vanessa Renee' Links Abbott, 57, a native of Galesburg, Ill. and resident of Houma for 35 years, died at 8:55 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2012.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to funeral time Friday at St. Ann Catholic Church. Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
She is survived by her husband, Neil "Tony" L. Abbott Jr. of Bourg; sons, Neil "Trey" L. Abbott III and girlfriend, Andre'e Picou, Nicholas H. Abbott and wife, Mandy, and Nathan R. Abbott; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Bryson Abbott and Payton Pellegrin; father, Robert Eugene Links; brothers, Bobby Links and wife, Nedra, and Todd Links and wife Lisa; sisters, Becki Simpson and husband, Mike, and Judy Domangue and husband, Hilary; eight nephews and 12 nieces.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Lee Howard Links; father-in-law, Neil Abbott and mother-in-law, Janet Abbott; and niece, Kate Marie Champagne.
She was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church. She was in Tupperware Sales for 18 years and a legislative assistant for Damon Baldone for 10 years. She was always active in activities with school, church and the community.
