GONE TO THE OTHER SHORE

For some time D. D. Abbey had been failing in health and last Thursday night at ten o'clock he passed away. Rev. Hobansbelt conducted the funeral services which were held from the M. E. Church, Sunday afternoon at eleven o'clock, the remains being buried in the Villisca Cemetery.

Deceased was born in Greig, New York, July 16, 1830, and was married to Sarah L. Wardwell in Boonville, New York, November 21, 1866. They moved to Missouri in 1874 and to this place in 1882. Mr. Abbey joined the Baptist Church when a boy and during his whole life was a devoted Christian. He was a worthy old gentleman and everybody entertained a most favorable opinion of him. Two sons, Rev. D. P. Abbey of Richardson, North Dakota and L. T. Abbey of this city remain to cheer their aged mother in the eying of her life. Another son, died in infancy.
