James Otis Abbott
BROADUS, MT. ---- James Otis Abbott, 66, died early Friday evening after a fire in his vehicle.
Mr. Abbott had worked at various jobs, including maintenance man, mechanic, police officer, truck driver and for the Milwaukee Road.
He was born in Tilden, NE., son of James and Ethel Abbott.
He attended schools there and in Oelrichs, S.D.
On Feb. 5, 1941 he married Carol Parrish in Hot Springs, S.D.
She died in 1956.
On April 12, 1957, he married Sarah Scherer in Miles City, MT.
They moved to Broadus, MT., in 1960.
Survivors include his wife, his stepmother, Netty Waters of New Castle, WY., a son Robert of Missoula, MT., two stepsons, Frank Wallace of Dubois, WY., and Walter Wallace of Longview, WA., a stepdaughter, Mrs. Dick (Mildred) Molstad of Baker, MT.,
three brothers, Charles Abbott of New Castle, Bob Abbott of Upton, WY., and Wilbur Horricks of Chadds Ford, PA., a sister Mrs. Mike (Doris) Halls of Lovell, WY., 11 grandchildren, three great grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Our Savior Lutheran Church,
Burial will be 4 p.m. in Custer County Cemetery, Miles City, MT.
